392 - SMGR SIP Endpoint Detailed Reporting/Monitoring!

Would it not be nice to have detailed monitoring/reporting capability within SMGR for SIP endpoints showing how many SIP phones were registered yesterday, last week, an hour ago and to be able to generate a report showing all endpoints that did not return by a simple click of a button! This would be so powerful during maintenance window activities and would eliminate the very time consuming process of managing spreadsheets. Vote for this now so we can get this overdue feature considered by AVAYA!

We currently have our vendor run this file manually every Friday and email it to us so I can run a comparison in Excel if anything goes wrong. It would be nice to be able to just run a history or comparison report on what was registered and not have to have the vendor spend time doing this every week, just so I have files to compare with.

Absolutely agree. While I'm not sure Avaya would build this into SMGR, you can do this yourself via Session Manager APIs. I run a script every 15 minutes that captures all the registered phones into a database. The script then compares, by location, the count of phones that were registered the previous time the script ran and sends an alert into a Teams channel if the amount crosses a threshold. It also summarizes the registration counts per location so I can see those on a website for the past 24 hours.

Sam, It's impressive that you were able to figure out SM APIs to achieve registered phone counts and the custom DB manipulation! Majority does not have these advanced skill sets nor the backend system(s) to support. I also believe that this feature should be native to SMGR and not hiding behind an API. I believe AVAYA would consider this enhancement if the votes support it!
Thank you!
