Avaya IP Office currently lacks support for the OPUS codec, which is crucial for enhancing call quality and bandwidth efficiency in WiFi-only environments (like ours). OPUS excels in adapting to varying network conditions, ensuring clear voice transmissions even over WiFi connections prone to interference and fluctuations. In our current environment, we are using G722 and we have had feedback from users that there are times when speech quality degrades mid-conversation. Since G722 (and other traditional codecs) requires dedicated bandwidth, it would be perfect for OPUS to thrive in unstable networks (such as in WiFi-only networks).
